About Nash Approved Internship Site
The role of the Nash Approved Internship Site, participating in the Nash System, is to provide internships to students to complete their practical skills training. Salons offering internships make it possible for students who cannot afford to pay for their practical skills training and cannot secure financing.
Salons participating in the Nash System, offering internships, help beginners enter the wonderful world of bathing, grooming, and styling dogs.
A big thanks to the internship sites for partnering with Nash to train the pet care professionals of tomorrow to be the best!
About a Nash Approved Internship Site
A Nash Approved Internship Site is typically a salon seeking to hire a bather, groomer, and/or stylist. The salon offers an internship to a student or students who have completed or are enrolled in the online courses required to receive a diploma in the art of bathing, grooming, and styling of man’s best friend. Diploma Programs also available for cats.
Your Status at a Practical Skills Site Offering Internship Training
If you apply for an internship, as a beginner, at one of the internship sites, the salon agrees to accept you after successful completion of your online training, or you may take your online training during your internship. You are considered a student of the Nash Academy and you are participating in an internship. You are not an employee of the salon and do not receive a pay check from the salon during your internship. Once the practical skills training has been completed, you will be required to test out to receive your diploma.
Do I Pay a Tuition Fee?
The internship site offers practical skills training at no tuition fee to the student. The student does, however, pay an administrative fee to Nash Academy. The site does not receive monetary compensation from the school to train you in the practical skills, however they do receive an administrative fee for the paper work needed to complete your training. Once training has been completed, you, the student, must pay the test out fee and successfully complete the required trim styles to receive credit for your practical skills training to receive your diploma.
Test Out Required After Your Internship Training
After you complete your onsite practical skills training at your internship site, you can attend a test out site and successfully complete the required trim styles to receive your diploma and certification.
Nash Approved Test Out Sites
Nash Approved Test Out Sites are located at all schools and training sites using the Nash System. Temporary test out sites are also held at grooming facilities and at IJA, the International Judges Association for Dog Grooming Competitions to accommodate bathers, groomers, and stylists worldwide to test out of their practical skills and receive a diploma from the Nash Academy.
Certification by the International Judges Association are also held at the test out sites. Novice, Master, Expert, and Specialist certifications are offered by the International Judges Associations for Dog Grooming Competitions.
Who Will Teach Me?
A Nash Approved Internship Site is not required to employ a Nash System Certified Practical Skills Instructor, however, they typically employ a master or an expert stylist in the art of bathing, grooming, and styling the canine. It is in the best interest of the salon to make sure to have a well trained professional in charge of training new interns. If you attend an internship site with an excellent reputation in reference to the overall bathing, grooming, and styling services, you should be trained to the same high standard. Many sites employ top professional stylists to oversee their internships so you could be trained by one of the best! Do your research to find out more about who is teaching practical skills at the Internship Sites.
