Dr. Lennie Halstead at the age of 23 became a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine. She started her professional career by doing her undergraduate work at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, her medical studies in Marietta, Georgia at Life University, and received her Doctorate at Sherman College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Dr. Halstead has always been one to apply herself with a drive and determination never to fail. At the ripe old age of five, she was crowned Little Miss Kentucky and went on to receive the Crown of Little Miss USA. While living in the beauty pageant world, Dr. Halstead’s true love was riding and taking care of her horses. Doc’s first horse was an Egyptian Arabian that she successfully showed at the Horse Park in Lexington. Again, Doc had to master this calling leaving the Arab world and got into Tennessee Walking horses, where she won the Amateur Stake Championship in Alabama.

After receiving her doctorate, Dr. Halstead returned to her home town to practice Chiropractic Medicine, where she graduated as Valedictorian of her Senior Class. Dr. Halstead then left practice to join her dad in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she took a Professor’s position teaching Anatomy and Physiology at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. In the 5 years at Horry-Georgetown, Dr. Halstead married her high school sweetheart and started her family with 2 little girls. Due to illnesses in the family, Dr. Halstead moved and continued her Professorship at Stark State College in Ohio.

In the spring of 2015, Dr. Halstead’s father got the great idea of opening a pet store near his family in Kentucky. Dr. Halstead went back to school at the Nash Academy to help her dad in his dream by learning to become a professional groomer. She fell in love with the pet industry and the Nash Academy and with her lifelong love of animals, stayed to teach students how to be the best of the best in first aid and CPR.

With her knowledge of anatomy and physiology and years of first aid and CPR training, Lennie will be the first to be certified to teach with the Universal Canine Certification System.
