Lori Dawson 2016
“I am so proud to be a graduate of Nash Academy. It was the best program”
Casey Lee Roberts 2015
“I'm very proud to be a Nash grad! Nash has an excellent online curriculum and being a student gives you access to the groomer's reference and canine reference which are great tools in learning each of the dog breeds and how to care for their coat type and groom them to the breed standard. The practical application portion of the school was excellent with knowledgeable staff and instructors to teach us everything we need to know about grooming and styling man's best friend. I also enjoyed being able to work alongside the other students to develop team working skills and creating solutions to grooming difficult dogs. Thanks to Nash I am ready (and very excited) to go out into the pet industry and confidently groom dogs as a professional. My favorite take away from my experience at Nash is that my love for dogs has grown tremendously since that first day I walked into the school”.
Albert Constancio 2014
“I went to school here and I loved it”!!!
Danielle Rene Muse 2011
“Currently enrolled and attending classes here. It isn't for anyone who isn't serious about wanting to groom. It's tough and can be stressful but it's all part of the curriculum and the teachers always make sure you come out of any groom learning more than you already knew. Can't wait to go back”!
Denika Cluett, Nash Graduate, 2013
WOW!! I just graduated from NASH ACADEMY of ANIMAL ARTS in Lexington Kentucky. I have traded in my business suit for a grooming smock and I could not be happier.
When I decided to follow my passion for dogs and make a dream come true to start a career in the continuously growing Pet Industry, I had no idea that my experience at Nash Academy would be so educational and personally fulfilling.
My decision to attend Nash Academy came after doing much research. I chose Nash because of the academy's reputation for being the best in the industry internationally and their genuine compassion for dogs. I was pleasantly surprised with the high standards for excellence that Nash sets for safety, sanitation, dog handling as well as the grooming and styling. The pet is the priority and every single dog, big or small,...Nash loves them all.
I cannot say enough about the experience. Every day at Nash is fun, and you truly learn new skills every day. With every dog and cat you groom you can visualize your future. The smiles on the clients faces when they see their dogs groomed are priceless. Every single dog groomed at Nash Academy by the students are given a final check by a senior instructor or the owner and CEO, Vivian Nash herself, before being given to their parents.
I would recommend Nash Academy to anyone who is truly passionate about animals, has a high standard and appreciation for excellence and committed to being the best in the industry. I am proud to be a Nash Certified Groomer and member of the Nash family for life.
Mellinda Stweart 2012
I am a groomer and have been grooming for 11 years! I have sent 2 girls there cause they are the best grooming school out there for grooming!
Rebecca Potter, Nash Graduate, 2012
Because of Nash I have been able to groom dogs and set a good example for others. I'm really satisfied with what I was able to learn from you guys :) Yesterday I groomed 2 Brussel Griffons and received a $20 tip and an invitation to the Westminster dog show from the same people. I could not have done all this without the education I received from Nash.
Jennifer Anders, Nash Graduate, 2012
I really enjoyed the Pure Breed Summit and all the wonderful info that I gained. Thanks for all you guys do!
Deanna Pomilla, Nash Graduate, 2012
I looked into four grooming schools all together, and visited two of them, both in New York which is where I am from. After visiting them I felt like I never really fell in love with either of them and that I was just settling because I wasn't pleased with any of them. That's when I decided to come here and visit Nash. From the second I sat down and spoke with Kim I felt that this is where I needed to be, then I got the tour of the salon and the houses and I just absolutely fell in love with everything! I can't even imagine if I had chosen one of the schools back in New York. I love Nash and I truly believe it is the best grooming school out there. I also couldn't have asked for three better teachers. No matter how many times I have watched other groomers groom, I never 'got it'. I felt maybe it wasn't for me because I just didn't understand. After being here for a short period of time, I realized that this is what I really want to do with my life and I felt good enough to know that I can do it, and it wouldn't be possible without the teachers that I have. The way they teach hands on is unbelievable. Vicki has incredible speed and she is enjoyable to watch. Liz has the patience of a saint, she can handle a dog like no other, and she always knows what to say to boost my confidence. Hillorie has AMAZING scissoring skills and she is highly knowledgeable when it comes to breeds, she knows anything and everything there is to know about every breed out there! This is my first away from home experience and I couldn't be happier with my decision on coming to the best grooming school and I am so thankful to have the most amazing instructors to go along with it. I couldn't have asked for a better way to start my career as a successful dog groomer.Once again, thank you for this amazing experience!
Rosalie Wohlhagen, Nash Online Graduate, 2012
I have just finished the entire Nash course today, eight months have just raced by !
I have found the course very interesting, challenging and at times hard, but I have enjoyed the course at the same time.
I hear people talk about dogs and depending on what they are saying, sometimes I can't help but say, "well, that's not right, this is how it is," and I drive my friends and family mad with what I have learnt from week to week. I am sure they don't listen now !
The course has also made me look at dogs in a different way and of course I am always looking at groomed dogs and seeing what is good and bad about how they have been done.
I need to tell you about Roberta! She is a very special person to me! Roberta is an instructor who knows how to make people think out of the square and also helps people to reach their potential.
From the way Roberta addresses each post by everyone in the discussion (which is vital to each student as we all have different views) to the way she helps you if you need more time, Roberta is an asset to the Nash Academy.
I can't wait to get my certificate to display on the wall.
Jodie Bonning, Nash Online Graduate, 2011
I would like to mention what a fun, educational and creative experience I received at the The Grooming School and doing the Nash Academy Online Course.
The dynamic team from The Grooming School, NSW- Chris, Les, Blair and Bec are absolutely amazing, supportive and a world of creativity, I felt so relaxed and welcomed into their grooming family as they taught me numerous amount of skills. Then whilst I was hands on with TGS, I completed the Nash Academy program and it was an adventure of new information every week. What a lovely opportunity it was to be enrolled in such an amazing, knowledgeable course.
I came from a background in the vet industry and Nash still offered me a wide variety of information that I find extremely helpful in everyday grooming. The team were so supportive and happy to help at all times. It has really made a big difference in my life. I have learned so much about something I found very interesting and now I have the knowledge to really make a difference.
I would strongly recommend both of these courses to anyone entering the grooming world, or would like to broaden their skills.
Melissa Estep, Nash Online Graduate, 2011
I wanted to drop you an email and let you know how much I enjoyed taking the online classes with you as the instructor. I feel as though you went above and beyond with your teaching, especially with it being online, and taught us so much!! It felt like we were in class instead of at a computer:) Once again thanks so much!!!
Marion Kennel, Nash CPE Graduate, 2011
I would recommend to anyone looking for a grooming school to visit the Nash Academy. You will see the difference. Learn the right way from the beginning.
Maria Mirti - Nash Online Graduate 2005
This course rocks! It's going quite well and I'm enjoying it very much. Starting next week I am planning on taking the next course in the Diploma Program titled: "Form and Function of Man's Best Friend".
Chris Richardson - Doggie D'Tails, Nash Online Graduate 2005
How is everything going at Nash? Well I cannot begin to tell you how well the Nash Team trained for the ever changing world of Dog Grooming. I really miss everyone and hope to come back soon for more training. I am doing very well with Doggie D'Tails. I have about 2 to 3 dogs a day right now and that is great for me. Please tell Nikki that my time management is getting better.
Please tell everyone hi for me. Oh I miss doing scissorcize with everyone. John, Viv and Tanya, life is good working with animals. Nash has provided me a foundation that I have been able to build on. I really miss coming to Nash everyday. The quality of dogs that comes in is not what I see now, but most of all I miss Nikki, Melody and Tim, your solid rocks of Nash Academy. John, I would thank Nash Academy for everything that I have learned at this point and in the future. I still believe that the top groomers will be well educated from schools like Nash and seminars. I don't have to be the best, just the best I can be. Thanks.
Elizabeth Sizemore - Nash Online Graduate 2005
"I'm enjoying them (the courses) greatly. They are very informative, and go into great detail. I never knew there could be so much to learn about one animal ... We (or I) seem to be half through the courses, and I hope the rest are as fun and informative as the others were."
Kathy Weathers - Nash Graduate 2004

“I got in the pet industry after trying to groom my own dogs by using a book. I was very intrigued and decided I wanted to know more. I started researching for schools and located the Nash Academy in Lexington KY. I made a visit there and after seeing Vivian's excitement about the industry, decided this must be my destiny. The roots of my grooming career began at Nash. I have been grooming for the past 16 years and continued my learning through seminars, summits, private lessons, and competitions”.
Maja Brljafa - Croatia, Nash Graduate 1996
"I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to become a professional pet groomer.
Kattia Perez - Nash Graduate 1993
Let's see, I don't know if you are going to remember me. I'm from Costa Rica and I was in your school in 1993. I came back to Costa Rica and I've been grooming since. I never got the chance to thank you for everything, but here in my country I'm considered one of the best groomers thanks to what I learned there. My English is still awful, I haven't practice in years. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Thanks again.
Tamara Myers-White - Nash Graduate 1993
Hello Nash Academy ... Kallee and I are both retired. She was a very successful cadaver dog in my area. Due to Nash Academy and the great instruction, I had a very lucrative time with my grooming business. Thanks again, especially to Vivian and John. Your hand scissoring techniques, that I used on my dogs that I groomed, absolutely floored the people in my area. I have taught your techniques to other groomers in my area. Thank you so much again.
Karen Gadient - Nash Graduate 1992
Hello! Just wanted to send a quick email to give you an update on what's become of one of your graduates from over ten years ago (1992). Strangely enough, I ended up specializing in cat grooming—although I still groom dogs too. Although I no longer groom full-time—I'm also a graphic designer, I have a sweet bunch of clients part-time and lots of warm memories of my time at Nash in New Jersey. I always recommend the school to those I meet (either in real life or online) who are interested in a grooming education. I shall be saying the most glorious things, since my time at Nash was one of favorite experiences. My clients are impressed and I am proud. You guys are the best!
Rhonda Livengood- Nash Graduate 1991
I can’t believe how fast three and a half months just flew by. Not it’s time to move on, I am really gonna miss you Diane, especially your laugh and the way seem to smooth things over when we mess up. I’ll never forget what you’ve taught me. Your a great teacher and I have learned so much from you. I’m glad that you kept me on my toes. I thought we all had an absolutely wonderful time at Intergroom and I hope to see you there next year. I plan to come back and visit you all some day. Take care of yourself. And once again….. Thanks You!
Stacie Young- Nash Graduate 1991
The talk we all had at “Friends” changed my life a little. I think more positively when I’m grooming and don’t worry about me being a little slow, I’ll pick things up so quick when I am on my own, your head will spin. You have been a great teacher and that’s all anyone could ever ask for. I know I’ll surely miss you and your “kids”! I can remember the first night I was here and I called you to have someone to talk to. This was the first time I’ve been away from home and it has done me a world of good. Even if I had to be away from my family. I had a new family waiting right here and I’m glad you were apart of it! I’ll never forget you! You’re my inspiration! Thank you!
Dana Hippleheuser- Nash Graduate 1991
Thank you for the encouragement and the inspiration of the last 15 weeks. You have prepared me for a career in pet grooming, which I totally enjoy more than I thought possible. You both have been more than instructors to me, you have been good friends.
Carol Casella - Nash Graduate 1991
I owe all this to all of you! Thanks Millions (I hope I make them too)
Karen Wendling- Nash Graduate 1991
Thanks for all the help and advice to get me ready for the world of grooming. As much as I didn’t like driving the distance I’ll really miss you both. Thanks again and I hope to see you at the dog shows.
James Christian- Nash Graduate 1991
Thanks for all of the talks we’ve had while I was in school. Not only do I look up to you as my mentor, but also as my friend. You gave me so much more than an excellent education as a Pet Care Specialist. You taught me to trust and believe in myself. I first want to say thanks for being there as a teacher and my friend.
Sue Coon- Nash Graduate 1990
Going to Nash Academy was the best things I ever did for myself. I’ve found my nitch after all these years! I love going to work in the morning. I don’t even mind the late hours. I should have done this years ago.
Melissa Paragios- Nash Graduate 1990
Just wanted to thank all of you for everything you’ve taught me at Nash. You all really encouraged me to stick with grooming and I love you all for that! Nash Academy definitely loves up to its reputation of being the best, and I couldn’t have asked for better instructors. You guys are great! Thanks again for all that you’ve given me!!!
Vicki Fraley- Nash Graduate 1989
I just wanted to write and express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the new world that the two of you have opened up for me. For so many years I have struggled through job after job, never being happy or satisfied with what I was getting in return. It’s a terrible feeling, to feel that you have nothing to be proud of. I am so thankful that the two of your opened the school in Kentucky, because i you had not, I would still be wondering what I was going to do with the rest of my life. The encouragement and confidence that the two of you gave me was the one most important part of my time at your school. I never thought I could do it and you all never doubted I couldn't It means so much to have someone believe in you. Now, thanks to you I have the confidence and TRAINING to be successful with my new shop. Please stay in touch and thank...again.
Joy Disponette- nash Graduate 1989
Thanks for everything. Please take this plant home and nourish it. You can’t know how much you all mean to me. You both have given me so much, something no one can ever take from me. I love you both. Thanks for being my new beginning. I finally know what I’m about.
Cathy Creech- Nash Graduate 1989
Thanks for making my dream a reality!
Sally Smith- Nash Graduate 1988
I have several reasons for writing to you at this time- mostly just to say thanks. First, thank you for all the recent referrals to the kennel. It’s nice to know that Stan and I have your trust. We are putting all our efforts into being the best Pet Hotel arround. My second thanks, which really extends to the rest of the staff as well, is for the terrific education I received through your facility. I have been hearing comments from my clientele along these lines: “ You did a beautiful job” or “He’s never looked this nice before” though obviously they’ve had him groomed somewhere all of his life before trying me. In thinking about these comments I realized my skills are really a reflection of your and the staff (unless, of course, all the other local groomers are really that bad!) Lastly, the shop is growing fast. As per my phone call with John the other day, please keep me in mind if a likely candidate for hire appears.
Helena Picariello - Owner, Pet Crazy, Nash Graduate 1987
I am a graduate from way back in 1987. I just want to thank John Nash and Joey for the great education that was given to me, it is priceless!!!! Attending Nash Academy was one of the best things I have done. Seven years ago I moved to Cape Coral, Florida, one of my lifelong dreams. I finally opened up my own salon called "Pet Crazy." Life is getting so great with my own business!!!!!!!!! My Pet Sitting just exploded!!!!!!! I have such great plans for growth, the potential is incredible!!!!!!! I have met the most fantastic people with pets, we are a special breed, lol. Well, Thank you ... I never got to say that.
Donna Jeffery - Parent of a Nash Graduate 1986
"I just wanted to thank you for running such an excellent school and in such an efficient manner. Mark has done nothing but rave about how happy he is in his choice. He loves the grooming, loves the school, and says the instructors are all A-1. Continued success to you and our thanks for giving students a large push in their search for a career. Certainly our son sounds like a new person now that he is so enthused and ready to go to work for himself."
Sue Tapp- Nash Graduate 1983
Thanks for the education and support. The Nash Academy gave me the start to attain my goals.
Marcella Lolos - Nash Graduate 1982
"I want to tell you that I have a lot more confidence in myself now than I did four months ago. I owe it to your wonderful school. #1 School Nash Academy."
Barbara St. John - Nash Graduate 1981
"Just a note of recognition for the fine training program the school and staff offered to me as a student. The classes and lectures helped me succeed in my employment. Upon graduation you were very helpful in my obtaining grooming jobs and finally the opening of my own business. Again thank you for helping me in the career I've wanted for so long."
Loretta Vogt- Nash Graduate 1981
The solid education which I received at the Nash Academy has enabled me to achieve a level of success in a profession which I never dreamed possible.
Diane E. Sorrentino - Owner, House of Grooming, New Jersey, Nash Graduate 1980
"Thanks to your fine training I have taken a business that was doing three dogs a day to one that is now doing an average of ten dogs a day. Things have gotten so busy that I now employ a graduate of your school. It is a pleasure to have someone you can trust to groom a dog well and to handle customers and their questions with the same devotion as the owner. I will soon need another groomer, and I will again hire someone that has trained with you. You seem to turn out students that take pride in their work."
Bradley Scott Richard - Owner Brad’s Dog Grooming 2000
“17 years ago Nash Academy changed my life .... I went from working in the mental health field as a counselor which I loved but was so burnt out to working in a field that has brought me so much joy .... to this day I am still so proud to tell people when they compliment me on my grooming skills that I owe it all to Nash academy ...... In the past I was blessed to be the owner of prestigious petz in my hometown Lincolnton North Carolina to opening another pet boutique Brad’s dog grooming in Melbourne Florida where I live now... I've always said that the skills that I have learned has enable me to be able to go anywhere and have a profession in grooming...... and a little side note to all the students. Remember your scissoring exercises they are so important to save your hands and the other thing is gentle handling. I'm 52 years old now with no carpal tunnel. Lol and in 17 years I have yet to send a dog to the vet.......... so here's a shout out to Vivian Nash, and heaven's angel John Nash......... oh yeah and mambo number 5”
Dara Forleo - Owner The Whole Pet Grooming Academy New Hampshire 1999
“I graduated from Nash in 1999. I knew the first day I visited Nash that I would open my own academy. After putting myself through college by grooming, I received my BA in Business Management. By 2016, I opened my first business and within a few years, started The Whole Pet Grooming Academy in New Hampshire. Nash was a great place to start my grooming foundation and because of this, I have developed new training techniques that I have implemented into my academy. Thanks for the memories, the foundation and the education”! - Dara Forleo, Class of 1999

"I just wanted to send you a note of thanks for your fine training of two of your former students ... I couldn't ask for more efficient, pleasant, and professional employees."
Lawrence - Owner, Dog World Grooming and Supply Center 1981
"There was a time when I said I would never hire a student right out of grooming school. Through past experience I found they were lacking in many aspects of grooming. Recently, I had the opportunity of hiring a graduate of the Nash Academy of Animal Arts. I was very pleased to see the well-rounded grooming background that she received through your school. Not only was she taught the necessary clipper and scissor work, but she also had knowledge of all breeds, first aid and customer relations. In the future, I would not hesitate to hire a student from the Nash Academy of Animal Arts."
