Kathy Weathers

Director of Salon Operations

Kathy Weathers, the Director of Salon Operations for the Nash Academy is known for her patience, kindness and expertise--making her an ideal practical application teacher. She started at Nash as a student, received her diploma, stayed on as an intern for 6 months, then ran her own salon in a veterinary facility, and is now the head instructor in Salon Operations in Lexington, Kentucky. Kathy grew up in Southern Indiana, and has been married for 26 years; she has a daughter and a granddaughter. As she says, "after I got my daughter and my husband raised, I discovered the Nash Academy and enrolled." Kathy has seven dogs and two cats, and hopes to begin showing her Lakeland Terriers and Yorkshire Terriers in competition in 2008. As well, Kathy is an award-winning musician, playing the mountain dulcimer as part of a trio named "Heartstrings," and an amateur ornithologist who participates in the "Great Backyard Bird Count" of Cornell University. Kathy has been an animal lover for as long as she can remember, and the Nash Academy has opened up the world of grooming and styling for her, with which, she says, she is now obsessed.
